Features
Two, Three or Five Axes of Positioning
Two-axis XY models have orthogonal transverse adjustments.
Three-axis XYZ models add translation along the optical Z-axis. Pure Z-axis motion without rotation of the lens is achieved through turning the knurled ring with precision 80 TPI threads.
Five-axis XYZ θXθY models provide smooth XYZ translation plus true gimbaling about two orthogonal, coplanar axes. Five independent degrees of freedom allow you to accurately position an optic in any plane along any axis.
True Gimbal Adjustments
LP-A Five-axis XYZ θXθY models provides smooth XYZ translation plus true gimbaling about two orthogonal, coplanar axes. These five independent degrees of freedom allow you to accurately position an optic in any plane along any axis.
Independent Non-influencing Locks
Independent locks for each axis of translation and rotation securely lock the mechanism, not just the actuator screws, maintaining stable optical alignment. Engaging or disengaging each lock has negligible influence on the other axes.
Adapters for Cube Beam Splitters
The CH-0.5 and CH-1 can be used to adapt 0.5 in. and 1.0 in. cube beamsplitters to the LP-1B and LP-2B series lens mounts, respectively. The holder simply threads into the matching threaded hole in the lens mount, which can align the cube in x, y, z, and pitch and yaw coordinates. Roll can be set manually using the lock ring on the CH-1.
Adapters for Connecting 1.0 in. Lens Tubes
Two adapters are available to adapt LT10 Series Lens Tubes to LP-1B Series Lens Positioners. The LT10-NP1
adapter features internal 1.035-40 and external 1.063-20 threads and needs to be used with the LPLH-1T optic holder in place. Alternative option is to use the LT-10-BS1
adapter which features internal 1.035-40 and external 1.438-20 threads and directly threads into the lens positioners with LPLH-1T optic holder removed.
The LP Series Lens Positioners can be mounted to optical tables directly with the slotted base, or to an optical post using the threaded holes (8-32 and M4 for LP-05A, 1/4-20 and M6 for LP-1B and LP-2B) at the bottom.
Modular Slotted Base and Riser
When the space to mount a lens positioner within an optical system is limited, the slotted base of all LP Series Lens Positioners can be removed to reduce their footprint. For OEM systems with a lower optical axis height, the riser piece of the two-axis XY models and three-axis XYZ models can also be removed, with the smaller tapped holes on the back side of the lens positioner accessible for mounting. (Note that the riser piece of the five-axis models is not removable.)
Optic Compatibility with Multi-axis Lens Positioners
The threaded central aperture of these lens positioners accommodates optic retaining rings and a variety of optics holders for simple lenses, objective lenses, or other optics. Each unit is supplied with two non-marring Delrin retaining rings as well as an optic holder.
