Zero-Order Waveplates

Zero-order wave plates have a total retardation of the desired value without any excess. Zero-order waveplates are not as sensitive to wavelength and temperature variation as multiple-order waveplates.  Our standard zero-order waveplates are constructed of two air-spaced quartz wave plates, enabling use with high-power diode lasers or tunable lasers.  Our polymer true zero-order wave plates use a birefringent polymer film cemented between two high-precision optical windows with a high efficiency, broadband antireflection coatings for better angular acceptance and less sensitivity to wavelength change.
