Features

Machined Bearing Ways

The unique bearing design of these Gothic Series translation stages offer the ultimate stability in temperature-fluctuating environment. Unlike the multicomponent design of standard stages, which can loose their preload properties over time, Gothic Series bearing ways are machined directly out of the stage platform.

More Bearing Contact Area for Higher Loads

The gothic arch contact profile for the stainless steel ball bearings offers increased contact area to reduce bearing stresses, making the stage able to carry higher loads and more resistant to bearing-way damage.

Side Mounted Actuators

These gothic-arch ball bearing stages feature side-mounted actuator clamps, minimizing the final footprint while maintaining a low profile height. Motorized axes feature our 8302 picomotor actuator and provide 12.7 mm of travel.  Manual axes feature our 9355 smooth-bore micrometer heads and provide 12.7 mm of travel.

< 30 nm Resolution

Our Picomotor actuators have a step size of < 30 nm, allowing for very small, controlled movements of the gothic-arch bearing linear stage.

Easy-to-Use, Flexible Controllers and Drivers

Our Open-Loop Picomotor controllers and drivers are modular. You can daisy-chain up to 31 drivers together with four channels each, so you can have a network of up to 124 standard Picomotor actuators. You have two interface options with the controller system: hand pad or computer, both providing plug-and-play use. Alternatively, you may choose to use our TTL/Analog Picomotor driver.

Set-and-Forget Long-Term Stability

The Picomotor actuator moves when voltage is applied to the piezo, changing its length and in turn moving the jaws which turn the screw. When no power is applied, the actuator does not move. You can feel confident that your linear translation stage will stay put, even when you power down your system.
