Features

1/4-20 (M6) to 8-32 (M4) Thread Adapters

The PS-1T table adapter post, with 1/4-20 (M6) thread on one end and 8-32 (M4) thread on the other end, attaches directly to PS-E extension posts for direct table mounting. A similar type thread adapter SS-1-B converts any 1/4-20 (M6) hole into an 8-32 (M4) mounting surface, adding 0.25 in. (6.35 mm) height such that attached components mount directly to optical surfaces. Both can also be used as intermediate adapter to stack PS-T (1/4-20 or M6 hole) and PS-E (8-32 or M4 hole) 1'' optical posts for desired optical mounting height. 

Remove and Replace Components Without Changing Their Locations

The PS-1P Peg Adaptor post includes Newport's Patented Precision Peg and allows a variety of opto-mechanical components like PS-T posts, VPH post holders, SA2 optical breadboards to be precisely installed and removed without changing its location in your optical setup. In use, one end of  the peg is threaded into optical component (e.g. a PS-T post) and the other end precisely slides into the PS-1P adaptor and locks in place with two set screws. The curved shape of the Peg allows the setscrews to pull the two parts together to create a solid stable connection.

Post Spacers For Precise Height Customization

1.0 in. Post Spacers offer precise tuning of mounting height to 1.0 in. optical posts and pedestals, which provide highly stable mounting of optics at their fixed incremental heights. The PS series spacer has a clearance hole suitable for 8-32 or M4 screws centered in the solid stainless steel body while PS-T series spacer features 1/4-20 (M6) clearance hole. Both series offer a wide range of custom heights in increments as small as 1/32nd of an inch (.79 mm). Other sizes offered are 1/16th in. (1.6 mm), 0.125 in. (3.2 mm), and 0.25 in. (6.35 mm). 

Optical Pedestal Spacer Set

The 9950 optical pedestal spacer set includes three 1/4" and six 1/8" pedestal shims that let you reach those in-between heights, while retaining all the stability of our fixed-height mounting scheme. The SP-KT Precision Spacer Kit combines an assortment of both 0.5 in. (12.7 mm) diameter, and 1.0 in. (25.4 mm) diameter precision spacers in a specially labeled and compartmented box.

LaserClean™ Low VOC Versions Available

Many laser-based applications require extra care to reduce volatile organic compounds (VOC) and ensure added cleanliness. VOCs and other contaminates can deposit on to optical surfaces causing degradation in output power, beam quality, and wavelength. Newport now offers certain Opto-Mechanical components that are specially prepared with clear anodize, nickel plating or stainless steel materials, special lubrication and vacuum-level cleaning. Products are packaged in Class 1000 (ISO 6) cleanroom grade bagging material and then double-bagged for further cleanliness precautions.
