Features

3X Space Saving Design

By eliminating the need for a clamping fork, PX series pedestals and posts save 3X the space on an optical table allowing for dense optical systems.

Simple Installation - Easy Positioning

PX series forkless posts can be installed with a single 1/4-20 (M6) cap head screw. The internally slotted base allows versatile positioning and solid clamping.Using a 3/16 in. ball tip Allen wrench, one can access the 1/4-20 (M6) mounting screw via the patent-pending angled access slot in the optical post.

Flanged or Straight

PX series can be selected by design, thread, and lengths. There are two designs: flanged pedestal and straight post. Use the straight post design to save the most space or to use with post holders. Use the flanged version for more versatility, since these can also be mounted with a standard fork if needed. They are made from stainless steel to provide the best stability and stiffness.

Vertical Height Adjustment with Post Holders

For even more flexibility, our forkless optical posts can be used with Q-TMS Series Post Holders. The Q-TMS provides continuous vertical control for components mounted with 1.0 in. (25.4 mm) optical posts. Height is secured easily with spring-loaded thumb screws.

Cross-Drilled Hole for Easy Tightening and Loosening

These posts feature a 0.234 in. (5.9 mm) diameter cross-drilled hole. By inserting a 3/16 in. (5 mm) hex wrench (or similar tool) into this hole, it can be used to easily attach or detach an extension post or optical mount on its top.

Accessories for Customizable Heights and Architectures

Extension posts and spacers can be used to precisely tune the mounting height of optical posts, allowing optics to be mounted at non-standard heights. Post clamps provide the option of securing an optical mount at any position and any angle to a post. 45 degree mirror mount adapters allow a mirror mount to be post-pointed at a fixed 45° pitch angle, which is ideal for periscope applications. For versatile, high-stability mounting in multiple dimensions, our modular construction cubes are the best choice. And to facilitate flexible mounting and stacking of optical posts, 8-32 (M4) to ¼-20 (M6) thread adapters are available.

Additional mounts and bracket choices

Our PX-FM1 fixed mirror mount and PX-MFM-B flexture mount mounting bracket feature the same integrated slotted-base design as PX pedestals and posts. They are made of stainless steel and have keying pin holes. They're ideal for applications that require location and orientation adjustment within tight space.

PX Forkless Pedestals and Posts are Made for OEM Mounts

Newport's newest and best performing mirror mounts are designed to mount on forkless PX posts and pedestals. They are ideal for OEM use, as well as for use by researchers in the laboratory. The forkless design solves the space-constraint problems created by standard clamping forks.
