These positioning systems are the upper alignment segments of Newport’s Single-Mode Fiber Coupler systems, useful for multimode fiber coupling. Three-axis control of the optical fiber provides easily alignment of light into fiber ends -  high-resolution 100 TPI adjustment screws for smooth XY adjustment and a knurled knob with 80 TPI thread for axial Z motion. These simpler units can be used for single-mode fiber coupling by mounting to the Model F-91TS Tilt Stage, forming an assembly identical to our Single-Mode Fiber Couplers Model F-915, F-916 and F-91-C1, respectively. Since the tilt stage is compatible with all three couplers, it is easy to convert from one type of coupler to another by swapping between positioner components.

Model F-915T is for use with bare fibers mounted with FPH Series chucks appropriate for the fiber diameter. Model F-916T adds a rotatable fiber chuck mount and enables coupling laser light to the polarization-preserving fibers. Model F-91-C1-T provides similar functionality to Model F-916T for connectorized patch cables. Fiber chucks and microscope objectives are not included.

We offer a variety of Fiber Chucks and Holders for bare or connectorized fiber. The preferred fiber chucks for use with the F-915, F-915T and F-925 are the  four-jaw fiber chuck with Teflon liner for fibers less than 250 microns in diameter, and the  Delrin-jawed chuck for fibers 250 microns to 1 mm diameter. The  and  slotted fiber chucks for fibers of 100-200 micron diameter are most often used with the F-916, F-916T and F-926because of their quick insertion and stress free holding capability. The FPH Series connectorized fiber chucks FPH-CAx are designed for use with Models F-91-C1, F-91-C1-T and F-92-C1.
