Cylindrical Lenses

Cylindrical lenses focus or expand light within a single axis only. They can be used to focus light into a thin line in optical metrology, laser scanning, spectroscopic, laser diode, acousto-optic and optical processor applications. They can also be used to expand the output of a laser diode into a symmetrical beam. Newport's N-BK7 lenses, featuring high homogeneity and low bubble and inclusion content, are a great choice for most laboratory applications. Our UV Fused Silica lenses are ideal for UV or higher energy applications, combining a very low thermal expansion coefficient and excellent transmittance down to 195 nm. These lenses are available in plano-convex or plano-concave shapes, either uncoated or coated with a variety of antireflection coatings.
