Manual Rotation Stage, Low-Profile, 0.87 in. Aperture, 1.81 in. Diameter, 4° Fine, 8-32
The UTR46SA Precision Low-Profile Aperture Rotation Stage is ideal for ±2° fine-tuning angular orientation of any component after rotating it to an approximate angle. A center aperture permits convenient mounting and adjustment of rotating components in transmissive applications. Ball bearings are preloaded in precision-ground, tool steel races for a smooth, accurate trajectory with minimum eccentricity. Disengaging the side-mounted clutch knob permits continuous 360° free rotation. Once the approximate angular orientation is obtained, a zero-backlash manual drive provides a fine adjustment of 4°. Scale markings and a vernier on the side of the rotation stage measure angular position with 30 arc min resolution.
UTR Rotary Stages mount to UMR Series Linear Stages and other components with BR Series Bridles (set of four are included with each stage), which fit on the mounting collar around the circumference of the base. For mounting UTR stages beneath UMR stages, an adaptor is required. Also, for mounting to other positioners and tables, the optional PBN base plate or BR-U may be used. Stages can also be mounted to components with the tapped mounting holes on the stage’s bottom surface. Components may be mounted to the top of the 1.81 in. diameter rotation stage via English tapped holes. Please refer to the Related Products for possible options.
360° Coarse Rotation - 4° Fine Rotation
Disengaging the side-mounted clutch knob permits continuous 360° free rotation. Once the approximate angular orientation is obtained, a zero-backlash manual drive provides a fine adjustment of 4°, which can be locked down by the lock knob opposing the fine adjustment knob once the final alignment is achieved. Scale markings and a vernier on the side of the rotation stage measure angular position with 1 arc min resolution. Sensitivities range from 2 to 6 arc second depending on the model.
Center Aperture For Collinear Optical Access
Each UTR-A manual rotation stage has a center aperture for optical access through the rotation axis or mounting optical components, providing easy integration to systems involving, for example, laser imaging or microscopes. UTR46A and UTR80A stages are all available in a low-profile version UTR46SA and UTR80SA for fitting into more restricted spaces.
Versatile Configuration Options for a Range of Applications
UTR Series Stages offer multiple configurations for mounting to tables and other components. These stages can be table mounted using the optional PBN Series Base Plate, with the included BR Series Mounting Bridles through the stage collar near the base. UTR80SA stage features an M4 threaded hole located on the side for post mounting in a vertical orientation. UTR rotation stages can also integrate with UMR Series Linear Stages and TGN Series Tilt Stages to build a multi-axis positioning system.
Easily Combined for Multi-axis Motion
The UTR Steel Rotation Stages are compatible with UMR Steel Linear Stages, TGN Series Tilt Platforms, and MVN Precision Vertical Stages of matching size (for example, UTR80 with UMR8.25 and TGN80 , or UTR120 with TGN120 and MVN120). They can be combined to provide multi-axis motion and can be easily adapted to fit a specific system's needs. In the picture, a six-axis manual positioning system is shown using two UMR8.25s, two TGN80s, a UTR80S, and a MVN80. (Hint: first assemble Y & Z stages from the backside of Y stage, and then connect X stage to YZ from backside of X. In both steps, the carriage of UMR stage needs to be translated to each end of the travel range to reveal access holes, please refer to UMR stage XY assembly video.)
