Product Series Overview
Standard Polarization Maintaining FibersThe F-PM980 Polarization Maintaining Fiber offers low attenuation and excellent birefringence for high performance applications. This Corning PANDA PM fiber has a 980 nm operating wavelength with beat lengths ranging from less than 1.7mm to 5mm. It has a step index profile with a 125 μm cladding, 245 μm dual acrylate coating, a 6.6 μm Mode Field Diameter and 0.10 to 0.13 NA. Also available are standard FC/APC PM patch cords, whose slow axis is accurately aligned to the connector key. In addition Newport provides custom patch cords with any available termination type at either end.
This bare fiber does not include a protective fiber jacket. Standard pricing is per meter. The following volume discount schedule is applied when ordering continuous lengths of optical fiber: 10 - 49 m: 15%, 50 - 99 m: 22%, 100 - 499 m: 25%, and ≥ 500 m: 28%.
Corning's PANDA Polarization Maintaining Fiber
Corning's PANDA polarization maintaining fibers offer low attenuation and excellent birefringence for high performance applications. Their design uses two stress applying parts to create an extremely high birefringence, resulting in fiber with excellent polarization maintaining properties. The operating wavelengths range from 480 to 1550 nm with beat lengths ranging from less than 1.7 to 5 mm.
Standard and Custom Patch Cables
Standard patch cables are available in several standard lengths with FC/UPC or FC/APC connectors. Please note that slow axis is accurately aligned to the connector key. If you need custom configuration, please use our custom patch configurator model:
