Universal Driver Module for XPS-D

The XPS-DRV11 is a universal digital driver card compatible with the XPS-D controller.  It has been optimized to perform with most of Newport's DC, stepper and linear motor positioners. The Stage and Controller Compatibility table lists the stages that the XPS-DRV11 can drive.

Specialty Driver Modules

XPS-DRV01, XPS-DRV02 and XPS-DRV03 are compatible with legacy XPS controllers, and in some cases they may be the recommended driver card for the XPS-D – see the Stage and Controller Compatibility table for more information. The XPS-DRV01 driver card does not fit in slot 1 on the XPS-RLD, use the other slots for this driver board. The XPS-DRV11BL is compatible with the XPS-D and drives MTN Series DC brushless motor positioners. For Nanopositioning Piezo Stack Actuators model numbers that end with "-D," the XPS-D can drive them using the XPS-DRVP1 card. The XPS-DRVP1 driver card does not fit in slot 1 on the XPS-D or XPS-RLD, please use the other slots for this driver board.

High Power DC Brushless Motor Driver

Some positioners with DC brushless motors require higher power to maximize stage performance. The XPS-EDBL is an external amplifier that connects to an XPS controller and can provide up to 1,200 W power (with optional fans mounted) and 25 A peak current. The Stage and Controller Compatibility table lists the stages that the XPS-EDBL can drive.

ESP Plug-and-Play Compatibility

When an ESP-compatible stage is connected to the XPS, the stage is quickly recognized and operating parameters are configured without the need for user inputs. This Plug and Play feature is not only transparent to the user, but it also ensures the safe operation of the stage.

Use with Third-Party Amplifiers or Drivers

When an external third-party amplifier or driver is used to control a positioner, the XPS controller can control that positioner by passing through its control signals with the use of an XPS-DRV00P pass-through module.
