Polarcor™ linear polarizers offer high contrast, high transmission, low wavefront distortion and a wide acceptance angle. The polarizing material – a borosilicate glass with aligned silver particles – is coated with a broadband anti-reflection coating and mounted in a 0.5- or 1-in. diameter aluminum housing. Polarcor polarizers outperform dichroic sheets, wire grid polarizers and polarizing cubes while being less expensive than calcite polarizers.

Features
Black Anodized Aluminum Mounting Ring
The 0.5 mm thick polarizer is mounted in a black anodized aluminum housing for protection and ease of handling. The standard 12.7 and 25.4 mm outer diameters are convenient for mounting into Newport’s rotary mounts. Each black anodized aluminum housing is marked on the front with reference marks, indicating the direction of the transmission axis.
The Polarcor Advantage
Polarcor is a dichroic glass polarizer with an extinction ratio greater than 10,000:1 over a fairly broad wavelength range--greater than sheet polarizers or beamsplitter cubes. Performance characteristics such as extinction ratio, transmittance, and angular acceptance are comparable to Calcite polarizers at a much lower overall cost for great value. Compared to other simple sheet polarizers, transmission is relatively high, ranging from greater than 79% for the visible products to greater than 94% for the near infrared products.
