Bi-Directional Clear Edge for Beamsplitting Application

The Clear Edge design enables unobstructed 45° beam transmission through the mount, making it ideal for beam-splitting or beam-combining applications where maintaining a clean optical path is critical. By removing material along the beam path, this design allows the transmitted beam to pass freely without clipping or distortion, even in compact setups. The new bi-directional MFM series supports bi-directional use, offering flexibility, and is especially beneficial in applications requiring precise alignment and minimal interference with the optical axis.

Keep Your Hands Out of Harm's Way

Top-adjust mirror mounts are designed with their adjustment screws positioned on the top of the mount instead of behind it. This allows users to make precise angular changes without reaching into the beam path, improving safety by keeping hands and tools away from active optical paths. The top-access design also enables tighter packing of mounts where compact setups are required. Adjustment in image shown using 2 mm hex knob.

Optic Size Compatibility

Top Adjust Flexure Mounts with Bi-Directional Clear Edge support optics in 0.5 inch, 0.75 inch, and 1.0 inch diameters, each tailored to accommodate different beam sizes. At a 45 degree angle of incidence, the maximum supported beam diameters are 3.2 mm, 6 mm, and 9 mm respectively. This range enables seamless integration into both compact and mid-scale optical systems, offering flexibility for diverse design requirements.

Versatile Optic Mounting Options

Designed to accommodate a range of optic thicknesses and deliver dependable performance across setups.

  • Set Screw: Applies radial pressure to hold standard-thickness optics and includes glue wells for optional adhesive retention
  • Threaded: A retaining ring secures thin optics in the threaded bore (only available in 1.0 in. size)
  • Low Wavefront Distortion: Spring clip with 3-point axial clamping minimizes mounting stress and distortion

Beam Monitoring Applications Made Easy

The Clear Edge feature enables a beam monitoring setup commonly used in applications requiring real-time feedback. A portion of the laser beam is sampled and directed into a power meter for measurement, while the main beam continues unobstructed toward the experiment. This configuration supports system tuning and diagnostics without compromising beam integrity.
