Kinematic Base, Locking, 4 inch x 4.5 inch

The BKL-4 kinematic base has a mechanically coupled 3.5 x 4.0 inch top and 4.0 x 4.5 inch bottom plates via a locking thread. Kinematic bases allow you to mount, remove, and replace optical components with very high repeatability. Three polished steel balls in the bottom plate register with a hardened cone, groove, and flat in the top plate so the two plates relocate precisely every time. These bases are especially timesaving in setups where optical elements must frequently be interchanged, or when reference elements must occasionally be inserted in an optical path. The BKL-4-T is an extra top plate that may be ordered separately.
