Our VA-CB series of variable beam splitters provide continuous beam splitting for many CW or pulsed lasers. The VA-CB series is designed to provide high contrast beam splitting of linearly polarized light at specific laser lines.

Features
Manual Fixed Wavelength Laser Beam Attenuators
The manual versions of the VA-CB series come with a manual rotary stage containing the half-waveplate. The user manually rotates the stage to control attenuation.
The motorized versions of the VA-CB series come with a motorized rotary stage containing the half-waveplate. Software is included which allows the user to calibrate the VA-CB at a single wavelength on either exit port. The motorized version can be used in open- or closed-loop operation.
Motorized, Variable Beam Splitter (Post and post holder sold separately)
Compact Industrial Housing
The optics and high-precision opto-mechanics are incorporated into a compact housing, flexibly designed for post mounting at varying optical axis heights. P-polarized light is transmitted with minimal loss collinear to the input beam path while S-polarized light is reflected 90°. A removable beam dump is included on the reflected beam port, allowing the use of the VA-CB as a variable attenuator for the transmitted beam. M-4 and 8-32 threads are included on the opposite side and bottom of the housing for mounting on optical posts. This allows for various polarized output options.
The VA-CB series is based on zero-order half-waveplates and polarizing cube beam splitters. The high pulsed power versions use high energy Nd:YAG polarizing cube beam splitters and are designed to handle high energy pulses up to 2 J/cm2 at fixed wavelengths including 405, 532 and 1064 nm. (High energy models for 248, 266 and 355 nm are also available as special orders – please contact us for more information.) These beam splitters can also be used with CW lasers at these specified wavelengths. All other beam splitters are designed to handle CW or lower energy pulsed laser input up to 2 MW/cm2 CW, 1 J/cm2 at fixed wavelengths including 442, 488, 515, 633, 780, 830 and 1300 nm.
