Selection Guide:
0.5 inch Diameter Mirror Mounts

Kinematic, Gimbal or Flexure Adjustment?

Newport offers over 50 mirror mounts for 0.5 in. (12.7 mm) diameter mirrors. Kinematic mounts are the most popular and least expensive. A disadvantage with a kinematic mount is that the mirror center moves along the normal axis when tip/tilt adjustments are made. Gimbal Mounts are more expensive, but are able to solve the problem of normal motion. Flexure Mounts are designed for set and forget type applications with excellent mechanical stability.
