Capture the Full Beam Diameter at 45° Routing
Prevention of beam clipping is important in beam steering applications with larger beam diameters. Circular mirrors mounted at 45° cannot maintain a circular profile and may result in portions of the beam not being reflected. The solution is to mount elliptical mirrors at a 45° angle – presenting a circular profile to an incoming beam – with Newport's Large Diameter Periscope Mounts and 1.5 inch Gear Rack Support Rods.

Durable Substrates
Elliptical Broadband Metallic Mirrors are available with N-BK 7 or Borofloat® 33 substrates. BK 7 is a borosilicate crown glass used for visible and near infrared optics. It offers high homogeneity, low bubble and inclusion content and is relatively hard with good scratch resistance. Borofloat is borosilicate glass with a low coefficient of thermal expansion. It is mainly used for non-transmissive optics, such as mirrors, due to its low homogeneity and high bubble content. Please see the Optical Materials Technical Note for more details.
