Fiber-Optic Modulators

Fiber-optic modulators utilizes a lithium niobate wafer with an embedded Annealed Proton Exchange (APE) waveguide to direct light through the modulator. There are at least two electrodes placed on the top surface of the wafer near the waveguide that is used to modulate the signal utilizing the Pockels effect.
