The all new 6700 Velocity laser is a complete redesign of our well established Velocity laser series. The worlds most advanced tunable diode laser system, Velocity offers complete single mode tuning across its entire output spectrum with no mode hops and closed loop wavelength position control.
The integrated wavelength monitoring system allows the user to dial up a wavelength with 0.01 nm accuracy and scan across all or part of the tuning range. Weve enlarged the drop tested and shock proof cavity housing, added more powerful temperature control, and introduced our unique Magnetic Damping to the 6700 Velcoity. This means we can now bring you higher power output with an even further reduced linewidth. Thats more power with even greater precision.
Optional 35 dB isolation and fiber coupling (including isolation) are available for all TLB-6700 Velocity lasers. For our fiber coupled version, we now provide a permanently aligned fiber fixed in place. The isolator and coupling are within the temperature controller and shock proof housing. The fiber used is steel jacketed and fixed, avoiding damage and retaining optimum coupling efficiency. This new design increases efficiency and maintains power stability.

Its not only the ease of use and optical performance that makes the Velocity exceptional. Nothing about the Velocity laser is typical. New Focus specifications are guaranteed.
Tuning Range
This is not the coarse tuning range. There is no coarse tuning, just smooth mode hope free tuning. Change the wavelength, and the laser will not mode hop.
Wavelength Stability
Wavelength stability is guaranteed to <1 pm/°C in operating environment temperature.
Stability
Keeping a laser stable for 5 µsec might be good enough for a typical laser but New Focus linewidths are measured over 50 milliseconds and are guaranteed to be less than 200 kHz.
Constant Power or Constant Current Operation
The 6700 has 2 operating modes. Constant current ensures complete mode hop free tuning across the entire tuning rnage. Constant power mode adjusts the current in the laser as you tune so you keep the power output smooth. This is the only time a mode hop can occur depending on the power level set by the user.
Operating Temperature
The laser operating temperature is 15° to 35°C
Beam Size
Beam size is less than 3 mm x 1 mm but varies per model. Call us if you need to know the exact dimensions.
