Micrometer Driven Slit Assembly, MS257

The 74002 Micrometer Driven Variable Slit Assembly for the MS257 1/4 m Monochromator and Imaging Spectrograph uses a precision micrometer to continuously vary the slit width from 4 μm to 3.0 mm. Slit height is also variable from 2 mm to 15 mm. It has ± 10 μm repeatability and ± 10 μm accuracy from 4 μm to 250 μm, and ±5% from 250 μm to 3 mm. Monochromators and spectrographs require one input slit. Monochromators also require slits at each output port.
