Zero-Order Waveplates

With our Zero-order wave plates, the total retardation is the desired value without any excess. Zero-order waveplates are not as sensitive to wavelength, temperature variation, angle of incidence or collimation as multiple-order waveplates. Our standard zero-order half-waveplates and quarter-wave plates are constructed using two air-spaced quartz wave plates, enabling use with high-power diode lasers or tunable lasers. Our polymer true zero-order half-wave plates and quarter-wave plates use a birefringent polymer film cemented between two high-precision optical windows. These have a high efficiency, broadband antireflection coatings for a better angular acceptance and less sensitivity to wavelength change.
