The VP-25X Series linear stage provides high-precision positioning performance in an ultra-compact form factor. A low friction ball screw drive provides robust, reliable performance with excellent thrust and minimal heat induced position drift. Combined with excellent minimum incremental motion of 10nm and travel of 25mm, the VP-25X is ideal for applications requiring fine manipulation of small parts. Featuring a manual adjustment knob, VP-25X stages are versatile enough to handle automated and non-automated tasks alike. Typical applications include fiber alignment, micro-assembly, and micro-machining.The VP-25X stages are available in two versions: The VP-25XA provides a RS422 standard encoder output with 0.1 µm resolution, that is compatible with our popular ESP300 and other motion controllers. The VP-25XL provides a 1 Vpp analog encoder interface compatible with our XPS motion controller. These stages deliver a reliable 10 nm motion sensitivity, and better than 140 nm bi-directional repeatability.
For critical positioning applications, Newport offers micropositioning calibration services. We will create, implement and verify an electronic compensation process to improve the absolute position accuracy of your Newport VP-25XL Series stages when commanded by our XPS advanced motion control system. Compensation is performed at 20.0 °C, +/-0.2 °C, for linear and non-linear errors, ensuring accuracy of up to 1 µm/100 mm over center 80% of travel.
