Newport's UF.35 coating is ideal for use with ultrafast pulse lasers as a high reflectance mirror at 45° angle of incidence for a very broadband wavelength range spanning almost 400 nm. Designed to reflect over 99.6% from 680 to 1060 nm, this mirror can be used with Spectra-Physics Tsunami®, Spitfire® Pro, or Mai Tai® lasers. Careful thin film design and advanced coating processes result in a mirror with maximum reflectivity, maximum bandwidth and minimum effect on pulse dispersion. Exhibiting ultralow phase distortion and a slightly negative GVD across the tuning range, these mirrors are available optimized for S or P polarizations.

GVD and the Cubic Term

Group velocity dispersion (GVD) and the cubic term of the phase expansion are shown for reference. True mirror performance can be affected by manufacturing tolerances and repeatability. Newport minimizes these effects with the use of state-of-the-art thin film production equipment and computer controlled processes. These mirrors have been successfully tested for use with Spectra-Physics Ultrafast Lasers.

Spectra-Physics Ultrafast Lasers have a polarized exit beam. For optimized performance, it is important to select a mirror with matching polarization. Both the Mai Tai® laser and Spitfire® Pro lasers have a horizontally polarized output beam, so choose the 10Q20UF.35P mirror. The Spectra-Physics Tsunami® has a vertically polarized output beam, so choose the 10Q20UF.35S mirror.
