Corner Gimbal Clear Quadrant Optic Mounts

ULTIMA^® Corner Gimbal Optical Mounts can tilt an optic without translating its surface by adjusting two adjacent actuators. Placing the center of the optic in the corner, at the intersection of the actuator axes, and adjusting two adjacent actuators an equal amount, results in gimbal-like motion. Adjust one actuator at a time and the mount acts as a standard kinematic optical mount. Adjust all three actuators to translate the optic. The optic mounts from the rear so that the optical surface is at the plane of rotation, regardless of the optic thickness.
Corner mounting allows an optic to be positioned in tight locations where using a standard mount simply wouldn’t fit. For example, this mount allows you to place the edge of two optics in very close proximity to each other.
Like all ULTIMA mounts, thick front and rear plates and optimized stiff springs improve long-term stability and provide greater protection against vibrations. These mounts for 1 in. (25.4 mm) diameter optics are equipped with high precision, 100 TPI adjustment screws, or you can use the base model and select the actuators of your choice separately (see ULTIMA Actuators). The actuators can be quickly changed to accommodate a broad selection of adjustment screws, micrometers, and motorized actuators. A convenient clearance mounting hole on each of two sides is compatible with either 8-32 or M4 screws providing quicker, more precise and more secure mounting.
