Furthering power supply technology to even smaller sizes has enabled the ultimate ion laser system package: a full-featured power supply contained entirely within a standard-sized air-cooled ion laser head. Systems designers gain back more than 50% of the real estate taken up by other ion lasers while giving up none of the features our lasers are known for. The new Solano 163M lasers are offered with output powers from 5 mW to 70 mW, with the option of multi-line output or single line output at 458 nm, 488 nm, and 514 nm. The plasma tube's demonstrated lifetime and performance is the same as those used in other Spectra-Physics ion lasers.
