Newport’s Single-Mode Fibers and Patch cables are all-glass fibers supporting single-mode light propagation for operating wavelengths of 488/514, 633, 780, 820, 980, 1060 or 1300/1550 nm. Corning SMF-28 fiber is included here.

These low attenuation, step-index fibers have a uniform core refractive index and a matched-clad profile.

Typical applications include sensors, instrumentation, device pigtailing, and light delivery.

Standard patch cords are available in several different lengths and connector types. These fibers have a 900 µm jacket surrounded by a layer of Aramid yarn for extra protection. A 3 mm outer PVC cable jacket provides additional environmental protection.
