How to perform Wild Card Keyword Searches:
- A wildcard is automatically assumed
-- ie., 'modular contro' will return results for 'modular
controllers'
- If you make a partial entry, ie.,
'laser dio' for 'laser diodes' -- the keyword search will
even return relevant results from Newport's online catalog
for two partial strings.
- Do not use an asterisk (*) -- it is
assumed at the end of any keyword you enter by the search
engine.
- Do not include any special
characters in your search, the best results are found with
alphanumeric characters only -- ie., (~!@#$%, etc.)
- If the keyword search does not
return a relevant result -- try using the Product Category
Search or the Left Panel Navigation Tool to select the area
of the catelog desired; in all cases you can drill down to
the lowest level of the catalog in two steps, after
selecting the top level Product Line
category.
For Part Number Searches:
- Be sure to set the radio button to
"part" when you are entering a Part Number, and it will
increase the speed of your search.
- Always include dashes
'-' which appear between segments in part numbers,
as shown in The Newport Resource and Oriel LIght Resource catalogs.
