SN050 and SS050 Series Kinematic Mounts |
Our new SUPREMATM 0.5in (12.7mm) Kinematic Optical Mounts offer superior performance in a compact footprint. Choose from our patented Clear Quadrant open aperture or closed aperture configuration for increased stability. Additionally, the SN050 and SS050 mounts can be ordered with your choice of front or rear loading optic faceplates. Both versions are fabricated hardened stainless steel shaped through a metal injection molding process, which results in a cost effective method of achieving performance approaching that of wrought stainless steel. Three 100tpi precision adjustment screws are standard features on the SN050 and SS050 mounts, with Capstan style locks offered as an option.
Ideal for OEM applications, the SN050 and SS050 mounts incorporate two #2-56 (M2) counterbored thru-holes for mounting purposes. In addition, we have incorporated thru-holes sized for standard 1/16th-in dowel pins to enable repeatable system integration and to prevent clocking effects. For research applications requiring height adjustable post mounting, we offer post adapters with 8-32 (M4) counterbored thru-holes. Locator pin holes on the post adapters mate with the holes on the SN050 and SS050 mirror mounts. Locator pins are not included. |
SN100 Series Kinematic Optical Mounts |
SN100 Series Kinematic Optical Mounts offer a wide range of configurations including front or rear mounted optical components, a broad selection of actuator options, and optional locks.
SN100 Optical Mounts are fabricated from pressed and sintered powdered metal stainless steel. Through our patent pending process we create cost-effective pressed and sintered powdered stainless steel mounts with performance comparable to that of wrought stainless steel. Newport's SN100 design has been optimized utilizing our broad experience in opto-mechanics, vibration damping and isolation, optics, and material science. Through comprehensive design, finite element analysis, and rigorous testing, we have achieved performance previously attained only through high cost, custom stainless steel mounts.
Our Patented clear quadrant design exposes the edge of the optic, allowing beams to pass close to the edge of a mounted optic. Optics can be held securely in place against precision mounting pads using the nylon-tipped setscrew, or be epoxied in place. Extensive laboratory testing has shown that epoxying the optic in place provides optimal performance and stability.
SN100 mounts have superior adjustability and feel. Polished and lapped tungsten carbide pads enable smooth, repeatable motion. Adjustment screws have 100 TPI threads for increased sensitivity and smooth adjustment feel. Two-actuator configurations have tip and tilt adjustability over a range of +/- 7 degrees. Three-actuator configurations have tip, tilt, and translation capabilities. Our broad selection of actuator options, including a wide range of standard and lockable micrometers and adjustment screws (with knobs or hex broach), yields flexibility to choose the actuator best suited for the application. The standard 0.375" diameter actuator-mounting interface is compatible with our NewStep motorized actuator.
Convenient #8-32 or M4 tapped holes provide quick, precise, secure and stable mounting, with the exception of the SN100C-F, which offers a clearance mounting hole. Tilt versus Translation |
Tilt is the translation of the center of an optic subjected to a 1° tilt of the front plate. For the SUPREMA Series 0.33 mm of translation is observed. |
