Newport lens sets can speed up assembly of complex optical setups and facilitate engineering prototype evaluation. Educators will find lens sets to be useful tools for demonstrating fundamental optical principles to students.

Spherical lens sets provide a selection of all four basic lens shapes. Sets contain research quality lenses in convenient focal lengths from −1000 to 1000 mm. Master Sets provide a comprehensive selection of lenses, while Introductory Sets provide a more economical selection that can be expanded upon special request.

All lenses are standard Newport 25.4 or 50.8 mm diameter precision singlets (see following links for prescriptions and specifications:

Lens sets are available with either BK 7 optical glass lenses or UV grade fused silica lenses. All lenses are edge marked with their Newport product number, making them easy to identify and hard to misplace. The edge marking is impervious to standard cleaning solutions.

The lenses are packaged in a protective hardwood case. They are held in place by foam inserts with the slots clearly labeled with part number and focal length.

Master Sets

BK 7

These lens sets provide a comprehensive selection of lens shapes and focal lengths in BK 7 optical glass. Plano-convex and bi-convex lenses are provided with focal lengths from 19 to 1000 mm for the 25.4 mm set and 38.1–1000 mm for the 50.8 mm set. Focal lengths from −25 to −200 mm for the 25.4 mm set and −75 to −500 mm for the 50.8 mm set are provided in plano-concave and bi-concave lens shapes.

UV Fused Silica

These are comprehensive collections of 25.4 mm diameter UV grade fused silica lenses. Focal lengths range from 25.4 to 1000 mm in plano-convex and bi-convex lenses and −50 to −1000 mm in plano-concave and bi-concave lens shapes.

Introductory Sets

BK 7

These lens sets provide a more economical selection of lenses that can be expanded upon special request. Like the BK 7 Master Sets, the lenses in these sets are made from quality BK 7 optical glass. All four basic shapes are included in this streamlined version of the Master Set.

UV Fused Silica

These sets contain more limited collections of UV grade fused silica lenses. They are economical selections of all four lens shapes that can be expanded upon special request.
