Product Detail

Newport offers a complete selection of rotators for ½- , 1-, and 2-inch diameter polarizers or wave plates. An array of compatible adaptors allows mounting of cube polarizers and externally-threaded Glan-laser calcite polarizers.

The Model MT-RS is a precision-crafted rotator for ½-inch diameter optics. It incorporates a brass worm-gear drive and integrated slip clutch to provide both fine adjustment and quick coarse movement. An engraved scale provides 5° increments while the worm-gear drive provides approximately 0.5° positioning sensitivity. A threaded aperture and retaining ring securely hold optics up to 9-mm thick. The MT-RS can be post mounted using SP, or MSP Series Posts and is compatible with MT Series linear stages and MCF or MCC Rail Carriers.

The RM25A Polarizer Rotation Mount allows 1 in. (25.4 mm) diameter linear polarizers, wave plates, Glan-laser calcite polarizers, and polarizing cube beamsplitters to be continuously rotated 360°. The extra deep mounting barrel holds polarizers up to 0.5-inch thick. A graduated scale marked in 2° increments indicates angular position. Rotation can be locked to prevent accidental adjustment and reduce drift. The 1-inch diameter rear flange on RM25A can be mounted to U100-A ULTIMA® optical mounts for precision tip/tilt and rotation. Three tapped holes per side permit secure mounting in industrial OEM optical systems. A 1/2-in diameter polarizer or waveplate can be mounted to the RM25A rotator mount using the PRA-05 Adaptor, which screws into the rotator's 1.063-20 thread. The PRA-05 Adaptor included a retaining ring. Note: RM25A is not compatible with Glan-Thompson Polarizers.

RSP Series Rotation Stages, which feature full ball bearing races, provide exceptionally smooth, continuous angular positioning for 1 or 2 in. (25.4 or 50.8 mm) diameter optics or components. A delrin retaining ring is provided to secure the optic. The rotating platform has six 8-32 and six M4 threaded holes for added mounting flexibility. Like the RM25A, the RSP-1T has an internal thread that enables Newport Glan-laser calcite polarizers and CH Series cube beamsplitter holders to be rotated in this stage. Polarizers or wave plates can be coarsely aligned using the knurled edge of the rotating platform while fine adjustment is achieved with the knob. Angular position is indicated on a 360° scale graduated in 2° increments. The adjustment knob can be securely locked by tightening the screw in the end of the knob.

MT stage assembly using the PS-Q Pedestal Cube. Note the MT-RS Polarizer Rotator is directly mounted to the MT-X stage using just one of the disassembled MT-AB2 adaptor plates.
