Polarcor linear polarizers offer high contrast, high transmission, low wavefront distortion and a wide acceptance angle. Polarcor is a dichroic glass polarizer with an extinction ratio greater than 10,000:1 over a fairly broad wavelength range. Polarization characteristics are maintained over a large clear aperture at incident angles of up to ±15°. Transmission is high, ranging from greater than 79% for the visible products to greater than 94% for the near infrared products.
Polarcor is performance class with calcite polarizers, yet offers a lower price for incredible value. Polarcor offers broader bandwidth, higher transmission, higher temperature resistance, better durability, and higher contrast than dichroic sheet or wire grid polarizers. Compared to polarizing cube beam-splitters, Polarcor has a better acceptance angle, contrast ratio, and temperature resistance.
Each polarizer is mounted in a 12.7 or 25.4 mm diameter black anodized aluminum ring to simplify handling since the optic is only 0.5 mm thick. All Polarcor polarizers are broadband antireflection coated to increase the transmission of polarized light.
Please see Polarization for a tutorial on linear polarizers.

Note: Models 05P109AR.16 and 10P109AR.16 lose about 2% transmission when exposed to visible light, even for a few minutes (fluorescent light being the worst). To regain this lost transmission, leave in a container unexposed to visible light for at least 24 hours.
