Newport's new Single-Photon Counting Device is the first miniature photon counting system on the market, making it ideal for lab use and industrial system integration. It features a new quenching architecture which stacks with cooling and communication boards for enhanced functionality. The sensor is hermetically sealed and seated on a thermoelectric cooler controlled by the cooler board for applications that require extremely low Dark Count. The USB Interface Board significantly simplifies the task of integrating the PCD into any measurement system as its integrated counter functionality eliminates the requirement for a separate data acquisition system. DLL and LabVIEW drivers supplied with the USB Interface enable the user to easily integrate the module into their system, while the compatibility with Integrated Software Environment (ISE) graphical user interface makes system monitoring and configuration extremely user friendly. This ease of integration, combined with the compact and miniature form factor of the product makes the PCD an attractive tool for demanding setups. The detectors comes with either a 20 or 100 µm sensor, and with an optional C-Mount adapter available for attaching filters and light collection lenses.
