Optical post collars are used to provide an index point for a specific optical post hight. Optical post clamps are used to attach optical posts together at various angles, as well as to mount special items to an optical post.
Optical Post Collars
The Miniature C-0.3 and Standard C-0.5 Optical Post Collars shown mounted to MSP and SP Series Optical Posts
Optical post collars provide an index point for a specific post height, allowing an optical post to be removed from an optical post holder and returned to the same height. They can also be used to rotate an optical post while keeping it's height constant. Newport's C-0.5 open-ring post collar for standard 0.5 inch optical posts allows it to be added without having to remove the post from the post holder. We also offer the C-0.3 miniature optical post collar for 0.313 inch diameter optical posts. With the open design of Model 9934 Nu Optical Post Collar from New Focus you can add a post collar anytime, even after youve aligned your optics. Slip the collar on the post and you can use it as an index to remove the post and return it to the same height. Or use the post collar to rotate the post while keeping the height constant. Available in sets of five.

Right Angle Optical Post Clamps
CA-1 , CA-T and MCA-1 Right-Angle Optical Post Clamps mount two SP Series or MSP Series optical posts, respectively, at 90° to each other. The clamping screws permit fast, secure post mounting with only moderate finger pressure. Our model 9935 right-angle post clamps let you cantilever a post at 90° to the table or mount two 1/2" posts at right angles to each other.
Adjustable Angle Optical Post Clamps
CA-2 and MCA-2 Adjustable-Angle Post Clamps hold two SP Series or MSP Series Posts, respectively, at an arbitrary angle with respect to each other. Both posts are tightened simultaneously with the knurled knob. The 9917 optical post clamp has threads for mounts with 8-32 (M4) through holes and the 9911 has a through hole for mounts with 8-32 (M4) threads. The clamping and mounting screws are one in the same. The 9930 has two separate clamping and mounting screws. THe Model 9936 swivel optical post clamps allow you to orient two posts at any angle to one another. They are just another convenient product for solving everyday lab dilemmas.
Filter Mount Optical Post Clamps

FC-1 and MFC-1 Filter Clamps are convenient for holding thin objects such as optical filters, transparencies or even razor blades used as knife edges. A 1/4-20 (M6) or 8-32 (M4) set screw may be threaded into the Delrin clamp for attachment to the end of an SP Series Series Post.
Flex-Lock Optical Post
Model 9940 (U.S. Patent #5,419,522) shown mounted on an optical pedestal post.
Our Model 9940 , flex-lock post, is perfect for holding cameras or detectors at any location, leaving your hands free to do your experiment. This double hinged post can support more than a 100-inch-pound (11 Nm) load at any location or angle. Each threaded end rotates 360° about its own axis and 360° about the main axis, and swings 90° to the side. Once in position, a single screw simultaneously locks all joints. The English version has a 1/4-20 tapped hole at one end and an 8-32 tapped hole at the other. The metric version has a M6 tapped hole at one end and an M4 tapped hole at the other.
The Perfect Microscope or Camera Stand
Youre at the point where you cant seem to position your camera or microscope at the one perfect angle so you can see your sample. Our flex-lock post can solve your problem. (It solved ours.)
For years professional photographers have been using double-ball joints to position their cameras. With the flex-lock post, weve brought this concept into the lab. This double ball-jointed positioner can be used in conjunction with 1/2" posts to hold a component, such as a camera, at any location and orientation. Once your object is in position, a single screw simultaneously locks all joints.
The CA-T can be upgraded with the MPH-STS Spring Loaded Thumb Screw which is sold separately
