Newport offers a wide variety of Optical Fibers to researchers and engineers in various sectors. The product offering includes standard telecom single-mode and multimode optical fiber, either graded-index or step-index, specialty fibers such as polarization preserving fiber, high power delivery fiber optic cables, bend-insensitive optical fiber, photonic crystal fiber (PCFs), and specialty fibers for extreme temperature conditions. We recently added a number of new products to meet continuously evolving requirements for state-of-the-arts experiments, especially fiber lasers. Some of the latest additions include double clad rare earth (neodymium, ytterbium, and erbium-ytterbium co-doped) doped fiber, their matching pump delivery optical fibers, and matching photosensitive fibers for fabricating fiber Bragg gratings. Also new is polarization-maintaining (PM) fiber with reduced cladding, which is ideal for sensing application.
A large number of standard patch cords on a variety of optical fiber types have been introduced. All the products except for custom termination are available to purchase online, to provide more convenience to valued customers.
Purchase of any fiber optic products is as flexible as possible: bare fibers can be purchased for as short as 1 meter, while custom termination can be ordered with the FC, ST, SC, and SMA fiber optic connectors with UPC and APC (for single-mode), and flat PC (for multi-mode) polish. Newport keeps expanding its capabilities and services to the customers.

Newport optical fiber ordering information is provided below.
Option 1 Bare Fiber
Newport bare fiber optics can be ordered in any integer length, starting from 1 m, with price breaks with longer fiber lengths. Most orders can be shipped within 24 hours. Please contact newport.com for quantity discount schedules for optical fibers When ordering, please specify the model number and the fiber length in meters.
The following volume discount schedule is automatically applied when ordering bare optical fiber: 6 - 50 m with 15 %, 51- 1,000 m with 22 %, > 1,000 m with 25 %
Example: F-MLD, Quantity 125 (Model number: F-MLD, bare fiber, no termination, fiber length: 125 m)
Option 2 Standard Patch Cords
Newport offers a large list of standard single-mode and multi-mode optical fiber patchcords with < 5 m length. Standard patchcords are shown below the bare fiber ordering table, on most fiber pages. For the list of available standard patch cords, please check individual product pages. Available terminator types are FC/UPC, FC/APC and SMA connectors.
Option 3 Custom Patch Cords
If you can't find the optical fiber patchcord you are looking for in our standard offering, you can still order custom patchcords with any termination and length options available from Newport. Note that not all fiber types offered by Newport can be terminated. Currently, Newport offers SMA, ST, and FC connector termination with a flat polish for multimode fibers. For single mode, ST, FC, and SC connectors with either the APC (Angled Physical Contact) polish or UPC (Ultra PC) are provided. If you require a larger number of patch cords, call Newports Application Sales Engineers to find out if you qualify for our quantity or OEM price discounts.
Note: (1) The fiber jacket option is not available with all fiber types.
Depending on the fiber type, only certain connectors will be available. Please check with a Newport sales engineer (1-800-222-6440 or tech@newport.com).
