Newports NanoPZ family of piezo motor actuators and controllers was designed to provide cost-effective, nanometer-scale remote positioning of manual stages and optical mounts in a wide range of opto-mechanical systems.
The PZC200 single axis, controller/driver provides convenient and ergonomic one hand speed control, and easy to use push button channel control for up to 8 axis, when used with the PZC-SB switchbox. The PSC200 is equipped with a serial RS-485 computer link for computer control of up to 256 x PZA12 actuators in parallel. RS-485 is accessed by using the RS-485 to RS-232 converter NSC-CB-485-232-1 plugged into the PC's RS-232 port. For USB connectivity, use optional the SMC-USB RS-232 to USB converter.
The PZC200 controller is dedicated to the PZA12 Piezo Motor Actuator, which has 30nm MIM, 50N axial load capacity and greated than 0.2mm/s speed. The PZA12 actuator is compatible with an array of Newport products including ULTIMA® Series optical mounts, GON Series goniometers, and ULTRAlign Series of linear stages.

PZC-SB Switchbox
The PZC-SB allows control of up to 8 NanoPZ actuators from the same PZC200 controller. LEDs indicate which actuator is active, inactive, connected or disabled. The two buttons on the PZC200 controller allow the selection of the active actuator. The PZC-SB is controllable via PC using the same RS-485/RS-232 interface as the PZC200.
