These sub-assemblies are the “top halves” of Newport’s Single-Mode Fiber Couplers and are useful for multimode fiber coupling. Model F-915T is for use with bare fibers, Model F-916T adds a rotation chuck for orienting polarization preserving fibers, and Model F-91-C1-T accommodates connectorized fibers.
These sub-assemblies can be used for single-mode fiber coupling when mounted on the F-91TS Tilt Stage, forming an assembly identical to our F-915, F-916 and F-91-C1 Single-Mode Fiber Couplers. Since the tilt stage is common to all three couplers, it is easy to convert from one type of coupler to another by swapping the bracket/fiber positioner assembly. For example, if you own an F-915T Multimode Coupler, you can upgrade to the F-915 simply by purchasing the F-91TS assembly.
