Bend-insensitive, pure silica, multimode Sensor Grade Fibers feature core diameters ranging from 1001000 µm. A bonded hard polymer cladding enhances the fibers strength and fatigue resistance. A high NA of 0.37 allows greater coupling efficiencies, while making these fibers optimal for applications requiring tight bending or coiling of fibers. Their typical applications include medical, industrial and avionic sensors and instruments. The operating temperature of bare fibers ranges from -65°C to +125°C.Cabled multimode fibers having a 900 µm outer jacket, surrounded by an Aramid yarn layer and a 3 mm diameter polyurethane cable jacket, provide additional strength and environmental protection. The cabled fibers have an operating temperature of -40°C to +85°C, and are identified by the -C suffix in their model number.High-temperature, all-silica, high OH-sensor grade fibers are available in 100 and 200 µm core diameters for use in harsher environments. Featuring a polyimide buffer coating, the fibers upper operating range is extended to +375°C, while its chemical and abrasion resistance is increased.Typical applications for these fibers include medical and industrial sensors, spectroscopy and radiation analysis. High-temperature fibers are identified by the -T suffix in their model number.Fiber Performance: The typical attenuation you can expect when using our sensor grade fibers with various light sources is listed in the following table.
