Features

Cabled Versions Available

Cabled standard fibers have a 900 µm outer jacket, surrounded by a layer of Kevlar® strands for added strength and protection. An outer PVC cable jacket provides additional environmental protection. Check individual product specifications for jacket diameter information. Cabled graded index multi-mode fibers have an operating temperature of -40°C to +85°C, and are identified by the -C suffix in their model number.

High Numerical Aperture

A high NA of 0.37 allows greater coupling efficiencies, while making these fibers optimal for applications requiring tight bending or coiling of fibers.

Hard-Clad Silica (HCS) Optical Fiber

A bonded hard-clad silica enhances the fibers’ strength and fatigue resistance. This HCS fiber has a silica glass core and an optical cladding of strong polymer. This change in material creates a strong mismatch in core and cladding index of refraction creating the Step Index profile. In comparison to all-silica fiber, where the cladding is also made of silica giving a closer Index of Refraction match and thus a Graded Index profile.

Large Temperature Range of Operation

These multimode fibers have various diameters of acrylate buffer coating, allowing continuous operation in the -65°C to +125°C temperature range. High-temperature, all-silica, high OH-sensor grade fibers are available in 100 and 200 µm core diameters for use in harsher environments. Featuring a polyimide buffer coating, the fibers’ upper operating range is extended to +375°C, while its chemical and abrasion resistance is increased. High-temperature fibers are identified by the -T suffix in their model number.

Standard and Custom Patch Cables Available

Standard patch cables are available in several standard lengths with FC, ST, and SMA connectors. If you need custom configuration, please use our custom patch configurator model: F-PATCH-CUSTOM.
