Newports new BBS-450 Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) Source is an affordable, high performance, microprocessor controlled incoherent light source. This broadband source produces a high power, extremely stable, broadband output spectrum in the 1000 to 1065 nm wavelength range, with applications in optical sensing, Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), and testing of passive fiber optic components. The fully contained benchtop instrument is robust yet simple to operate, with light output through an FC/PC or a FC/APC fiber optic connector. Additional safety features, such as the 5-second delay on turn-on and the light interrupt interlock, make it suitable for use both in the research lab and the production floor.
