Product Description
For critical positioning applications such as sensor calibration, laser material processing, optical delay lines, or laser direct-lithography, Newport offers micropositioning calibration services. Linear and non-linear errors are determined at 20.0 °C, ±0.2 °C and loaded into the XPS controller. Utilizing the error compensation feature of the XPS controller, the absolute position accurary of linear stages is improved. A certificate of calibration per Newport Metrology Procedure A167 and measured error maps are provided with the order.

1. Mapping service applicable to stages with direct reading linear encoders only {XMS, XML, IMS-LM, IMS-HA, ILS-HA, VP, GTS}
2. XMS / XML = 4mm scale pitch; all others = 20mm scale pitch
3. Accuracy measurements limited to the middle 80% of travel only
4. Stage must be used in conjunction with XPS motion controller
5. Service includes linear and non-linear compensation performed at 20.0 ± 0.2° C
