Newport uses the highest quality photodiodes available in our 818 Series Low-Power Optical Detectors. Available sensor types are: silicon (Si), UV-enhanced Si, Germanium, and Indium Gallium Arsenide (InGaAs). 818 detectors are supplied with a NIST traced calibration report that details individual detector responsivity measured with and without attenuator. The standard BNC connector allows flexible interfacing with oscilloscopes, lock-in amplifiers or current meters. The model indicated by the /DB suffix come with an additional BNC/DB15 calibration module that provides direct compatibility with Newports latest power meters, including 1916-C, 842-PE, 1918-C, 1931/2931-C, and 1936/2936-C. The models indicated by the /CM suffix come with an additional BNC/8-pin mini-DIN calibration module that provides compatibility with legacy Newport power meters such as 1835/2835-C. In both cases, the /CM and /DB adapters contain also the detector calibration data, model number, serial number and calibration date for seamless operation with the power meter. Exclusive OD3 attenuator technology extends the calibrated optical dynamic range of our photodiode sensor heads by three decades. The serial numbers for the detector and the attenuator are matched to ensure NIST traceability. For most accurate power reading, remove the attenuator when measuring power level < 1 mW. Also available are a variety of accessories such as collimating lens assemblies, fiber optic adapters, and a bare fiber adapter, and a 1 optic holder. (see
