Newport introduces an extensive list of TO-Can laser diode products in the 5.6 mm (TO-56) or 9 mm (TO-9) package from leading manufacturers. These are the popular Fabry-Perot laser diodes with highly demanded wavelengths and power levels. All the models here are single mode, which ensures focusing into a small spot size, high coupling into optical fibers, and good collimation, as opposed to multimode lasers. With the Newports industry renowned laser mount, laser diode driver, and a temperature controller, or instead using a Combo laser diode and temperature controller, you can easily build a reliable and low noise laser system with maximum output power and wavelength flexibility. Also available are laser diode systems, modules and fiber pigtailed laser diodes. Backed by 30 day return-for-credit with the products returned in the original sealed bag with no physical damage.

Maximum Flexibility
Maximum flexibility in your experiment or design can be achieved with the bare laser diodes and Newport supplies all the necessary equipment to drive the lasers. You can build a complete laser system with the following products:
Laser Mount: Newport offers well-designed laser mounts accommodating both the TO-56 and TO-9 package laser diodes on a single mount. (see Model 710 TEC Controlled TO-CAN Laser Diode Mount)
Laser Diode Driver: A laser diode requires a specialty current source to ensure the best performance and protection. Newports low power laser diode drivers are known for high reliability and performances. (see Laser Diode Drivers, 500B Series)
Temperature Controller: Keeping the laser at operating temperature is of essence to ensure long diode life time. Also, sometimes the lasers are wavelength tuned by tuning the laser temperature. Therefore, an accurate temperature controller like Newports 300B Series (see Model 350B TEC Controller) can be an essential part of your setup.
Cabling and Accessories: Newport also offers matching cables for the mount and the instruments, and collimating and coupling optics and mounts. (see the Laser Diode Control and Mounts Chapter)
Caution on Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
Each individual laser diode is tested and characterized, and guaranteed to operate, prior to shipment, by the renowned laser diode manufactures. The bare laser diodes are highly sensitive to ESD and it can happen from such mundane activities such as connecting electrical cables.

Newport offers a generous 30 day return-for-credit with the laser diodes returned in the original sealed bag.
