Newports Filter Wheel Mount provides a compact structure for translating from six to twelve, 1-in. (25.4-mm) diameter optical components on a circular path to six discrete angular positions 60 degrees apart. The base foundation has been designed to provide unobstructed optical paths for all six filters and standard optical heights of 1, 2 and 3 in. (25.4, 50.8, and 76.2 mm). Three captured, spring-loaded index balls provide repeatable and wobble-free rotation of the filter wheel. An entire filter wheel can be removed simply by turning the center knob, while individual filters can be mounted and safely held in place within the wheel by Newport's standard threaded Delrin retaining rings (clear aperture of 0.93 in.(23.7 mm) ). Both features make changing complete wheels or individual filters quick and easy.
A selection of neutral density filters is available to cover a large range of densities. We have identified a recommended set below.

Optical Density values are additive. Use of two filter wheels or two filters in a single filter slot produces a wide range of optical densities. For example, to achieve an optical density value of 1.7, select a filter with a density of 1.5 and 0.2.
