With their machined-in bearing way design, these Gothic series translation stages offer the ultimate stability in temperature-fluctuating environments. Many stage designs, which rely on separate-piece bearing ways, can loose their preload over time and usage due to slippage of the ways. Gothic series bearing ways cannot shift because they are actually part of the platform. Additionally, the unique gothic proﬁle bearing way provides increased contact area so that the load and momentum are more evenly distributed.

All Gothic series stages have side-mounted micrometer clamps that minimize the overall footprint of the stage (as opposed to center-mounted micrometers). These low-proﬁle stages can be stacked with each other and include a side-mounted locking mechanism to provide negligible motion when engaged.

Like all New Focus™ brand stages, we incorporate a number of user-friendly features including a low proﬁle, a small footprint, and a generous pattern of both 8-32 (M4) and 1/4-20 (M6) threaded holes. These stages are available in three square-platform sizes: 25 mm (9061 Series), 40 mm (9062 Series), and 65 mm (9063 Series).

Gothic-Arch Bearings: Increased Contact Area

Gothic-arch bearings provide four points of contact for each ball so that the load and momentum are evenly distributed within the stage, resulting in good side-load bearing properties and higher stiffness. These bearings provide smoother motion than rollers and better repeatability.
