Newport’s Fiber Pigtailed Laser Diodes are Fabry-Perot lasers with a single mode or multimode fiber pigtail precisely attached for optimum coupling efficiency.A multitude of center wavelengths—635, 670, 1310 and 1550 nm—and power levels are offered in one standard size package, which is also compatible with Newport’s Model 710 TEC Controlled TO-CAN Laser Diode Mount. Newport's LDKIT-1.5A-TO laser diode kit will allow you to set up a flexible laser diode control station within minutes. All laser diodes include a back facet photodiode.Both single mode and multimode light output versions are offered, having a one-meter, 4/125 µm or 9/125 µm fiber pigtail. All fiber pigtails are terminated with FC/PC fiber optic connectors.Applications include high-speed data and telecommunications systems and instrumentation, and optical instruments requiring a laser diode light source. The fiber pigtailed laser diode is highly ESD sensitive so a grounding wriststrap, like the FK-STRAP , is suggested to prevent damage.
Warranty is only applicable to unopened packages with original seal unbroken. The fiber pigtailed laser diodes are backed by 30 day return-for-credit with the laser diode returned in the original sealed bag with no sign of physical damage.
