Product Description
The Component-Style Fiber Optic Prism Switches offered by Newport are switches having high durability greater than 10 million cycles and low insertion loss. The switch uses a moving prism between fixed collimator pairs, which allows bi-directional operation independent of data rate and signal format. 9/125 and 62.5/125 mm, 1 m long, jacketed fiber pigtails are available on all models. In addition, optional ST, FC and SC fiber connector termination options can be added. The 1x2 single-mode and multimode switches are two position devices that enable channel selection. These non-latching models require a 5V DC switching voltage. Applications include fiber and component testing and optical signal routing. The 2x2 single-mode and multimode switches are fully reversing optical bypass switches, which are used to insert or bypass nodes in fiber ring networks. These non-blocking, non-latching components require a 5V DC switching voltage. Applications include bypassing of FDDI and SONET network stations, automated and remote fiber test systems.
