Newport is a widely known leader in optical detector technology, for accurate optical power and laser pulse energy measurement. We offer a broad selection of sensor head products meeting the most demanding customer requirements: low power semiconductor sensors, medium to high power thermopile sensors, and high power pulse measurement pyroelectric detectors. The low power detectors (see Low-Power Detectors, 918D Series) utilize high performance silicon, UV-enhanced silicon, germanium, and indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) photodiode detectors, in the low-noise photovoltaic mode. With the thermal detectors (see High Power Detectors, 818P Series), one can measure all the way down to 1 uW optical power to hundreds of watts of average power, with broad wavelength ranges between ultraviolet to far infrared. Pyroelectric sensors (see Energy Detectors, 818E Series) are used to measure pulse energy from pulsed optical sources. In addition, Newport offers an extensive line of integrating sphere systems (see Integrating Spheres, 819M Series ) for high power laser and diffuse light measurement, for either collimated or divergent beam sources. Newport maintains an advanced sensor calibration facility to meet all of your National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) traceability needs. Our comprehensive testing and direct traceability gives you the highest-accuracy calibrations with results you can trust via detector recalibration services.
