Microlock Tiedowns |
Microlock Tiedowns are the best way to precisely level a breadboard. Microlocks can be used to mount breadboards on an optical table or directly onto any vertical or horizontal structure.
Newport Microlocks consist of a 5/8-18 tapped tube welded into the breadboard structure. A 5/8-18 threaded insert is then used to set the stand-off height. The breadboard can then be mounted with a 1/4-20 or M6 bolt; a 5/8-18 plug locks the system in place.
Microlocks are normally positioned 1/6 of the length/width dimension in from the edge of the breadboard, with an additional Microlock in the center of the boards with larger sizes. With metric mounting holes, the Microlock positions are adjusted slightly to place them directly between the ranks of mounting holes. This provides automatic alignment of the Microlocks with the mounting holes in the supporting table when both the breadboard and the table have the same type mounting holes. |

Adaptor Plate |
B-1A is a low-profile plate with a standard array of tapped mounting holes to adapt almost any components onto URL Series Optical Railsincluding stages. It comes supplied with two flat-head socket cap screws. |
Universal Mounting Plate |
The UP-1 Universal Mounting Plate has been designed using Newports patented rotating slot concept to provide tapped mounting holes anywhere and in any orientation on the table or another component. Its low profile compact design adds minimally to the height of your experimental setup, maintaining its stability.
The plate is tied to the table with a single 1/4-20 (M6) flat head screw to achieve its low profile.
The UP-1 is especially useful as a primary positioning device under many of our smaller components. |
Mounting Platform |
The Model 38 Mounting Platform is an anodized aluminum plate with an array of tapped and clearance mounting holes for convenient, rigid attachment of components. Larger components and assemblies can be mounted on rod/clamp assemblies using the Model 38 as an interface platform. Model 38 is especially useful to mount English components to a metric table. If a larger mounting platform is needed, we suggest using Newport's Model 290-TP. |

Angle Brackets |
The 360 Series Angle Brackets are rigid, angled mounting plates with slotted faces. The 30, 45 and 90 degree angles are accurate to within ±2 arcmin. Model 360-90 is useful for building 3-axis linear stage assemblies and as a platform with rod mounted components. Brackets may be combined to provide stable compound angle supports. Pairs of 360-30 or 360-45 brackets bolted together on hypotenuse faces provide coarse-adjustable height platforms of exceptional rigidity. |
