Product Description
Our Blackbodies are highly uniform, temperature stable sources of infrared radiation. We offer various models differing in temperature range, cavity aperture and cavity material. We also offer variable speed choppers for applications requiring modulated infrared radiation.
These sources emit blackbody radiation by multiple reflection, absorption and re-emission of the thermal energy. The thermal energy of the cavity is provided by a ceramic sealed heater coil that uniformly heats the cavity cylinder to temperatures from 50 °C to 1050 °C or 50 °C to 1200 °C, depending upon the model of blackbody. The lower temperature model uses a stainless steel cavity; the higher temperature model uses a silicon carbide cavity.
