The 6025 Hg(Ar) Calibration Lamp is a simple and inexpensive tool to calibrate your monochromator or spectrograph. This battery operated Hg(Ar) lamp has a 1.5-inch series female flange to couple directly to Oriel® monochromators and spectrographs so that you don't have to worry about holders and alignment. Additionally, the 6025 is less expensive than the pencil type lamps and stand alone power supplies.
Convenience
The Oriel® 6025 comes in its own convenient self-contained compact cylindrical case that houses both lamp and battery within. Just snap 6025 on the input of the monochromator and flip the toggle switch.
The 6025 uses a 9 V battery. An LED indicator advises you when the lamp intensity has dropped to about half of the value obtained with a fresh battery. You can continue to use the lamp for another 1 to 1.5 hours with decreasing output intensity. Total continuous operating time on one battery is approximately 2.5 hours. The lamp is not replaceable, but has a 5,000-hour lifetime (to half initial intensity).
Optional Fiber Optic
You can use the 6025 as an Hg(Ar) source for sample irradiation (keep in mind the battery life). Fiber coupling facilitates transport of the light. The 77850 and 77858 Fiber Holders hold SMA or ST terminated single fibers at the output of the 6025.
