No Adjustments Necessary

These systems are truly plug-and-play. The electronics are factory pre-set to operate the specified element, so you don't need to adjust the current. You don't even need to align the infrared element. Simply install the element, turn on the power, and begin your work. For those Researchers who wish to retain some flexibility, we also offer systems based on the popularSeries Q Housing, which allow you to interchange elements and condensing lens assemblies.

Zinc Selenide Condenser

The output of our Apex Sources is a collimated, 1.3-inch (33 mm) diameter beam. The condenser is an F/2 Zinc Selenide assembly; ZnSe transmits from 0.6 to 12 µm. Our infrared elements have a broader range - 1 to 25 µm. The output flange of Apex is a 1.5-Inch Series female flange. Any 1.5-Inch Seriesmale-flanged accessory mates directly to the output of Apex.

Mounting

Apex Housings have four leveling feet for free standing use. The feet allow 0.50-inch (13 mm) height adjustment. For hard mounting to an optical table, remove the feet and use the appropriate mounting holes.
