The Agilis Series of high precision miniature rotation stages feature Newports new, Agilis piezo step direct motor. Agilis stages provides the benefits of ultra-high adjustment sensitivity and convenient remote operation at a price and size comparable to that of a high quality manual stage. Agilis rotation stages include both compact conventional piezo rotation stages and goniometer stages.
The ultra-compact and light weight AG-PR100 and CONEX-AG-PR100P rotation stages feature 1" apertures with retaining rings and are ideal for continuous rotation of waveplates and polarizers. With an optional top plate accessory, the stage can be used for small sample positioning or other optics applications. The AG-PR100 is an ideal, cost-effective solution to making fine rotational adjustments of optical components and small samples. The AG-PR100 can be used with compact AG_UC2 and AG_UC8 controller which can also drive additional positioners. For applications that required a high degree of repeatability and position feedback, the CONEX-AG-PR100P is recommended. The CONEX-AG-PR100P uses an integrated direct encoder and preconfigured closed-loop controller to acheive highly repeatable piezo positioning. The AG-PR100 is also available with vacuum compatibility in V6 versions.
The CONEX-AG-GON gonimeter stages are built on the same innovative Agilis piezo motor technology. These open frame stages provide easy access to the tip/tilt platform and can be stacked for multi-axis rotations. With innovative encoders and integrated controllers, Agilis Goniometers provide a rotational motion solution to compliment conventional rotation stages.
Why Agilis Stages?
Agilis piezo motors are directly coupled to the moving carriages with no intermediate screw or gear. Precision motion is achieved by a proprietary ball bearings. When idle, the holding force of the motor locks the position for true set and forget long term stability. Compared to alternative screw driven designs, Agilis rotation stages do not compromise adjustment range or lifetime and they have no backlash. In contrast to ultrasonic motors, the Agilis non-resonant motor makes small incremental adjustments more predictable with an impressive minimum incremental motion capability, ideal for ultra-sensitive alignments.

1 The step size for forward and backward direction is adjustable. With default settings, the step size for the forward direction varies from the step size for the backward direction and may be larger than 5 µrad. Individual steps are not 100% repeatable.
